Process of Certification
The ABO is now offering grandfathering to ocularists who meet base requirements and have significant experience in the field. The link below provides information on the process and requirements as well as the application. Candidates must submit the application prior to January 1, 2019 for consideration.
Continuing Ocularist Education (COE)
Continuing Ocularist Credits (COE) may be accumulated through attendance at ocularistry related lectures, presentation of lectures, and the publication of scholarly articles in indexed peer reviewed journals. Recertification
The process for recertification may take one of two paths. One may accumulate enough Continuing Ocularist Education Credits to recertify, or take the current subject matter examination. For more information on how to recertify, please follow the link below.
